They put fresh heart into the disciples, encouraging them to persevere in the faith. ‘We all have to experience many hardships’ they said ‘before we enter the kingdom of God.’. These words of the acts of the Apostles are important for us also: In this text the Lord is telling us also: Do not be discouraged by anything. Don’t be discouraged because you are struggling, because it’s not working yet, because you’re not feeling as good as you would like. If the apostles and the first Christians felt discouraged by their trials and difficulties, why should we be any different? Let us choose again today to place I’ll trust not in how we feel, nor in our success, but in Jesus who certainly loves us and will certainly accomplish everything He has promised – indeed being able to see that he already now is accomplishing it.
