There is nothing more good and beautiful than somebody laying down their life for another. We know this because this is what God did on the cross. And that this is what God has ever done and will always do. This is not an example which is far away. Our servicemen and women, and our police, our members of our community who do this everyday. Not just as a white martyrdom of sacrifice, But as a red martyrdom truly willing to risk their life in order that we might be free and live peacefully. Let us thank God this week for those who have and are laying down their lives so that we might have life and love freely, and ask God to help us imitate their generous and courageous example in each of our daily lives.
