On the 27-28th April 2024, the Emmanuel Community in Sydney facilitated a Love & Truth weekend for married couples at Mount Carmel Retreat Centre in Varroville, NSW.
The theme was ‘Order in Chaos’ and centered on how we can live authentic Catholic lives in an ordered hierarchy: first as children of God, second as spouses and third as parents.
The weekend consisted of teachings, adoration, mass, sharing groups and dedicated “couple time” to come together as spouses and reflect.
It was a beautiful time for our couples who left the retreat feeling inspired and enriched:
“A grace I received from the retreat was being with my wife and receiving formation relevant to building up our marriage together. I don’t know any other group that does a retreat for married couples this well- it was a joy to be on a retreat together.”
“My spouse and I are grateful that we attended the retreat while expecting our first born because we were surrounded by new parents and received excellent and practical guidance from those experienced in parenthood. It was a very beautiful weekend that was shared with so many amazing people.”
