Emmanuel Community facilitates parish Mercy Night

On 14 March 2024, the Emmanuel Community was invited by the parish of St Patrick’s in Sutherland to facilitate a Mercy Night. The evening captured the hearts of the local parishioners. There were over 100 people that attended the event.

The evening commenced by welcoming people and providing a brief overview of the Emmanuel Community and the evening ahead. This was followed by testimony, praise, adoration, and reconciliation.

Once the Blessed Sacrament had been exposed, people start lining up for confession which continued for the whole evening. Others took their time adoring the Lord, lighting a candle, and placing their petitions in a box in front of the Blessed Sacrament. In the background while reflective music played, others took the opportunity to ask the prayer team to pray for their special intentions. They were able to open their hearts, be honest about their personal struggles, and to be vulnerable before Jesus.

This was a wonderful opportunity to invite parishioners to experience the mercy and love of our Lord. Some parishioners have already asked if there could be another similar Mercy Night in the future at St Patrick’s Parish! The event really helped the parishioners develop their faith and deepen their relationship with God.
