Lent is a time for sharing. Why not take this opportunity to turn our eyes and hearts towards Burundi, one of the poorest countries in the world?
In this country, Notre-Dame de l’Espérance school was built by the Emmanuel Community in 2021 at the request of several Burundian bishops. They asked for a school with small classes, providing academic and moral excellence, but still affordable for the poorest families.
You will find here a news report filmed by TV5 Monde a few months after the opening of the school:
3 years after its opening, the results are stunning ! The children physical, intellectual and spiritual development is impressive and the registration waiting lists are getting longer every year.
But this success comes at a cost: teachers must be paid, as well as teaching materials, water and electricity, etc.
The annual cost for each pupil is €375 (including one meal per day). All families contribute according to their means, but this is not enough.
We need you to help this school continue its mission : raise competent young Burundians with a strong moral conscience, able to contribute to the development of their country!
Help us by mobilizing your family, your parish, your school, to support Notre-Dame de l’Espérance!
