Tuesday, March 24, more than 1,200 people attended the Mass for the Solemnity of the Annunciation at Notre-Dame de Paris, in thanksgiving for the recognition of the heroic virtues of Pierre Goursat.
A great number of members of the Community were present. The current General Moderator, Michel-Bernard de Vregille, and his wife Catherine, were joined by Martine Catta, as well as all the former moderators—successors of Pierre Goursat—and their wives: Gérald and Christine Arbola, Markus and Annie Gehlen, Dominique and Brigitte Vermersch, and Laurent and Christel Landete.
Beyond the awe of experiencing Notre-Dame in all its splendor, we were filled with joy to gather again as brothers and sisters. The Mass was presided over by Archbishop Laurent Ulrich, Archbishop of Paris, with music led by the Cathedral choir. Francis Kohn, postulator of Pierre Goursat’s cause for beatification, gave the homily (available here).
After the closing procession, the hymn “For all your marvels” was spontaneously sung in a spirit of joy!
