On March 6th, we announced that an apostolic visitation had been decided (see here) by the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life.
After meeting with Désiré Avice, interim leader of the community, the International Council, and the Fraternity Council on October 24th in Rome, His Eminence Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Prefect of the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life, confirmed the apostolic visitation and appointed His Excellency Archbishop Antoine Hérouard of Dijon (France) as the apostolic visitor.
In the context of this apostolic visitation, Cardinal Farrell also asked Désiré Avice to continue serving in his role as General Moderator ad interim for the duration of the visitation, working closely with the governing councils.
See below the intervention of Archbishop Antoine Hérouard on KTO regarding the visitation (video in French).
A few words about what an apostolic visitation is.
An apostolic visitation concerning a community or a diocese may be initiated by the Holy See, with the aim of observing and listening, verifying doctrine and governance, and proposing reform measures if necessary. This visitation is concluded with a report.
