Moving about

Moving to Paray-le-Monial

From Paris to Paray-le-Monial, we recommend taking the train from Paris Gare de Lyon to Le Creusot TGV and then taking the bus from Le Creusot TGV to Paray-e-Monial. This option would take you around 2h30.

From Lyon to Paray-le-Monial, we recommend taking the train from Lyon Part-Dieu to Le Creusot TGV or Roanne and then taking the bus to Paray-le-Monial. This option would take you around 2h10 / 2h30. There is sometimes a through train.

Where do the sessions take place ?

The site of the sessions is located a 10-minute walk from the train station, in the centre of Paray-le-Monial, to be precise, in the ‘Parc du Moulin Liron’.

The site consists mainly of:

  • a large tent, where the teachings, the Masses and the chief times of prayer take place
  • a “canteen” tent, where you can take your meals
  • a ‘village’ of mission tents, where you can learn about the different branches of the Emmanuel Community and all its activities
  • the tents for the various age groups between ages 8 and 17
  • a bookshop
  • a bar … to quench your thirst

Children from 0 to 7 years old spend their session in the ‘Parc des Chapelains’, an enclosed park located beside the Basilica, a 5-minute walk from the Parc du Moulin Liron.

Getting about during the sessions

For those who are accommodated in Paray-le-Monial, all the distances are possible by foot throughout the entire session.

There are car parks located near the session site.

We encourage you, as far as possible, to park your car close to your accommodation for the whole of the session and to come to the session site on foot.

We do not provide any transport for getting between the session site and the accommodation, whether budget or standard, offered by our organization. You must make your own arrangements for this.
Car-sharing can be arranged with other participants.
