Father Dominique died on Tuesday 27 August. His funeral will be held on Saturday 31 August at 10am in the church of Sainte Madeleine, Nantes.
Dominique de Chanterac was one of the first priests of the Emmanuel Community, ordained on 23 June 1984 in Paris. A graduate of a business school, he did his seminary at the Institut Catholique de Paris.
Optimistic, joyful and open to all, Dominique never ceased his missionary zeal throughout his life. He was also committed to the education of all. In particular, he recounted the beginnings of the Community with his sparkling eyes, filled with the desire to pass on everything he had experienced.
In Nantes, on mission as vicar of the parish of Sainte Madeleine since 2009, he was able to welcome and accompany many parishioners. The mission of accompanying catechumens was a particular source of joy for him. Right up to the end, he was committed to proclaiming Christ with a sense of humour.
