On the 27-28th April 2024, the Emmanuel Community in Sydney facilitated a Love & Truth weekend for married couples at Mount Carmel Retreat Centre in Varroville, NSW.<\/p>\n
The theme was ‘Order in Chaos’ and centered on how we can live authentic Catholic lives in an ordered hierarchy: first as children of God, second as spouses and third as parents.<\/p>\n
The weekend consisted of teachings, adoration, mass, sharing groups and dedicated “couple time” to come together as spouses and reflect.<\/p>\n
It was a beautiful time for our couples who left the retreat feeling inspired and enriched:<\/p>\n
\u201cA grace I received from the retreat was being with my wife and receiving formation relevant to building up our marriage together. I don\u2019t know any other group that does a retreat for married couples this well- it was a joy to be on a retreat together.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMy spouse and I are grateful that we attended the retreat while expecting our first born because we were surrounded by new parents and received excellent and practical guidance from those experienced in parenthood. It was a very beautiful weekend that was shared with so many amazing people.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cLove and Truth retreat about order in the chaos was a great time for my spouse and I to delve deeper into our marriage. We are only newlyweds but we were inspired by other couples journey to bring God into their relationship. I am inspired to call upon the graces we receive by living out our marriage in His love.\u201d<\/p>\n
