Since December, almost 1000 people in Austria: politicians, actors, musicians, religious, have accepted to participate in this operation and testify to the fruits received. Reawakening interiority to build bridges between people is at the heart of the \u201cMake silence\u201d proposal.&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<p><iframe title=\"10 minutes of silence -  a project of the Figlhaus Academy in Vienna\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vhzNdh4q9DM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In 1985, when I joined the Emmanuel community,\u201d says Otto Neubauer, \u201cone of the community\u2019s commitments was to pray for 10 minutes a day and looking back, I saw that this had been an essential key to helping me live these last years. And then, I realized that it could be a great way to engage with non-believers. Indeed, whatever their situation and beliefs, everyone can commit to \u201c10 minutes of silence a day\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">But it was also necessary to propose to the participants a concrete way to live these 10 minutes of silence. \u201cWe suggest that they first give thanks: be grateful, give thanks for the beautiful things in our lives. Then we suggest thinking of others, especially those who need help: spreading positive energy to others. There is spiritual solidarity that takes place and that allows us to build bridges in society.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/emmanuel.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Philippe-Pozzo-di-Borgo-Doppelbild1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/emmanuel.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Philippe-Pozzo-di-Borgo-Doppelbild1-300x192.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"234\" height=\"150\"><\/a><\/span>Testimonies from participants are pouring in on the website: www.fr.stilleschenken.com. For example, Philippe Pozzo di Borgo who inspired the film Intouchables, says: \u201cThrough silence, you discover not only the depths of your heart but also the complexity and fragility of others and their search for dignity.\u201c<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/emmanuel.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/B.Sto\u0308ckl_11-207x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"121\" height=\"175\">Barbara St\u00f6ckl, a famous television presenter, also testifies: \u201cIn silence, you have the chance not to be self-sufficient. Cardinal Sch\u00f6nborn says: \u201cTen minutes of silence in everyday life is a real gift. It is the strength that motivates us to perform small acts of kindness every day.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Another fruit often comes up: attention to others because praying for others allows us to be more attentive to their needs.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cBeing grateful is the beginning of faith,\u201d says Otto Neubauer. Participants report many other fruits: they feel at peace, connected to others, and more accepting of their own and others\u2019 frailties.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cWe don\u2019t know what goes on in the secret of hearts, but silence opens us up to listen, and I am sure that the Holy Spirit is at work,\u201d says Otto.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The next step for the \u2018Make Silence\u2019 project?
